Archaic smoke-burning tower with tea light holder – backflow incense holder with resin bird skull
The tower arrives safely packaged in recycled cushioning material, measuring 16x10x9cm and weighing 1.5kg.
This backflow incense cone holder is like a small ritual tower – an archaic object that combines fire, smoke, and symbolism. The tower is crafted using traditional smoke-firing techniques, so that flames and smoke leave their mark on the clay surface, like their own stories unfolding before them.
A resin bird skull is embedded in the opening from which the smoke emerges. It acts as a guardian of transition: a symbol of transformation, clarity, and shedding old layers. As the smoke glides down from the tower, an almost trance-like stillness arises – the skull seems to listen to this movement.
There is also a place for a tea light on the tower. The warm light and the descending smoke combine to create a quiet ritual moment, providing space for introspection, grounding, and connection with one's own inner depths.
Each tower is a unique piece of smoke-firing art – shaped by fire, marked by chance, and carried by handwork.
I am happy to implement commissioned work or my own ideas for a specific piece of work, provided it is compatible with my way of working.
