Multi-layered ancestral figure in archaic form · inspired by the Venus of Willendorf
The ancestresses arrive safely packaged in recycled cushioning material, measuring 21x10x10cm and weighing just under 2kg.
This sculpture tells a story of origin, transition, and memory.
It consists of three female figures worked inside and behind each other, forming a line – from the largest figure in the background to the smallest in the foreground.
The rear, most powerful figure is my free interpretation of the Venus of Willendorf. She represents origin: fertility, abundance, protection, and the ancient feminine power from which everything arises. Towards the front, the figures become smaller – like generations emerging from this origin, condensing, carrying on, and transforming.
Crafted from traditionally fired clay, the sculpture retains an archaic feel. Fire, earth, and handwork leave visible traces that bring it to life. It alludes to times when matriarchy, ancestral knowledge, and the cyclical nature of life were deeply rooted.
This work is a silent homage to our female ancestors.
It is suitable as a central object on an ancestral or ritual altar, as a meditative companion, or as a powerful symbol of feminine continuity in the room.
Each sculpture is unique. Small variations in shape, structure, and color nuances are intentional and part of its archaic soul.
